AISI 316L low carbon stainless steel

Range of application

Austenità¬c stainless steel for manufacturing acid and corrosion resistant prototypes or pre production parts. Molybdenum presence allows excellent weathering resistance, even in industrial or chemical environment with moderate concentration of chlorides and acids. Typical applications are plant engineering, automotive industry, medical technology, chemical industry.

Technical data after recommended heat treatment

1 Tensile test according to DIN EN ISO 50125.
2 By using a special heat treatment a higher elongation can be achieved.
3 Preliminary values subject to change or update.
4 Hardness test according to DIN EN ISO 6508.

Heat treatment

Optional for parts that are sensitive to warpage: Heat up in 3 hours to 550 °C. Maintain temperature for 6 hours. Subsequently allow the component cooling down in the oven or at ambient atmosphere.
